How long will it take to set up our personal registry page?
We’d recommend you set aside 10 – 15 minutes. It’s really easy, all you’ll need is your bank account details, a couple of images of you and your fiancee, and your honeymoon wishlist.
And don’t worry, there are no clunky government authorisations required.
When & how can we receive donations?
Bank transfers will go through directly based on standard bank timings. Credit Card payments via Stripe will take 4 working days.
There are 3 options for donation payments:
Credit Card (via Stripe) – paid directly to your preferred bank account.
Bank Transfer – paid directly to your preferred bank account. Please keep in mind standard bank processing times.
Cash/Cheque – if contributions are submitted as cash or cheque you will receive these in person or in the mail from your guests.
How much does this amazing service cost?
You will simply be charged a one-off fee of NZ$79.95 to create your online registry.
If your guests choose to donate via credit card, there is a 2.9% transaction fee +30c per transaction (unfortunately this is unavoidable, just like when you buy that online concert ticket).
Is this site just for honeymoons?
Contrary to our name, this service can actually be used for any type of funding, such as:
- engagement party
- baby shower
- birthday
- wedding
- anniversary
What is Stripe?
Stripe is similar to PayPal, but better, and is our preferred credit card payment processor.
It’s secure, easy to set up and has no joining fee.

Is Honeymoon Registry actually based in NZ?
Yes! This is a New Zealand owned and operated site run by a married couple who have been through the wedding and honeymoon planning process just like you. If you’d like to find out more visit the About Us page.
One of the benefits of this site is that we understand the challenges of this process for fellow Kiwi couples, and have done everything we can to solve these issues for you.
Can our international guests also donate?
They certainly can! Payments can be made via credit card in 135+ different currencies and will arrive in your account as NZD.
I need help - what types of gifts can we ask for?
Use your imagination, there are no limitations! The answer to this question is: anything and everything. Experiences or items.
You can ask for fettuccini in a bikini off the coast of Santorini, or book a candle lit feast in Asia (southeast). How about premium flights with Turkish delights?
How will I know if a payment has been made?
No problem, you have the option to turn on email notifications in your registry settings. Then each time a new donation is made you can keep track of the contributions in real time.
How can I thank guests for contributing to our honeymoon?
You can choose to write a thank you note in your registry settings page. This will automatically send to the person who has contributed so you can say thanks straight away.
Over and above this we would recommend acknowledging the contributions from guests in person at your wedding (if you have time and remember of course!).
Which elements of our registry page are customisable?
We’re glad you asked! Here’s a list of unique customisable elements:
- Registry Title – think of something a little fun and light hearted
- Registry URL – /insertyournamehere.co.nz
- Wedding Date – this will display below your profile photo
- Welcome Message – greet guests and talk about your honeymoon plans
- Thank You Message – to send when a contribution is made
- Profile Image – time to use your fave cute couple photo
- Banner Image – also known as a cover photo on social media
- Items – individual gifts eg. ‘Dinner at Nobu’

What security measures are in place to secure my data?
- Password Protected – You can choose for your registry to be password protected, so only people you’ve provided the password can access the page
- Secure User Data – Many websites collect user data in order to sell it without asking permission – we will not and do not sell your data to advertising companies
- PCI Compliant – We choose Stripe to accept credit card payments as it is the most secure payment gateway available – find out more here
